Match Report 27/04/2013

“On Saturday 27 April 2013, the School Football Team played their first official home league game at St Angela’s. We had a few call offs but had 11 players for the game to take place.  The players produced an accomplished performance leading 1-0 at half time with a well taken goal from Adam with good build up play from Liam and Lewis. The game could have gone either way but OLA finally put the game to bed with a goal with the last kick of the game to win 3-1. There were notable performances by our two players of the year winners Cameron and Liam and encouraging and impressive performances from Adam, Lewis, Christopher and Declan. Observers at the game said it is obvious the players have learned and improved from when they first attended a school football training session which can only be good for the school team in the coming season.

If you are interested in joining the school team look out for future training sessions and trials to be held for the current P4’s and P5/6’s. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday’s 9:30am – 11:30am.
We are looking to achieve a squad of 20 players but if more children are interested we may consider holding additional training sessions on alternate Saturday’s when no home game is taking place for those players working towards getting into the first team. ]
All children will be expected to attend Tuesday training 6:00pm – 8:00pm.”
