St. Mirren visit 29th September

On Saturday 29 September 2012, The School Football Team and coaches attended the St Mirren V Ross County Premier League Match courtesy of St Mirren Football Club. The well-known Glasgow South Taxi Business 50:50 taxis provided us with free transport to and from the match.
On behalf of the school team we thank both their generosity and hospitality as the children had a fantastic time. I am sure the parents of the children had a nice afternoon off as well.
The hospitality within St Mirren Park was great as the children were able to see up close the warm up sessions put in by the players, be heard and clapped by the players for attending as you can see from the photographs taken by our official photographer Mike and witness some amazing goal line action.
The score line was 5 – 4 to St Mirren which was thoroughly exciting. Some of the team did comment that St Angela’s warm up sessions are harder.
Due to some cancellations the school team has only played a few games over the past month. However we have witnessed improving results, individual and team performances. End of season individual trophies act as a good incentive as well as personal enjoyment.
Our home games until the foreseeable future will be played at St Bernard’s Primary School, Nitshill. Normal kick off time is 10:00am. For away games we normally meet at 9:00am McDonald’s Fast Food, Nitshill Road.
We will be arranging future away days at professional football grounds to provide the children with an opportunity to see up close the efforts put in by professional footballers. We have ordered a new football strip and will be looking to fundraise over the coming months to add to our training equipment we recently purchased.
If you can help the school football team and would like to get involved please get in touch via the school.
